Last night, I was honored to participate in the Legacies of War 10th anniversary event at the District Architecture Center.

Along with Chef Deth and Garret, I was invited to share my culinary skills with their guests, showcasing the unique flavors of Laos.

I made Lao sausage, chicken meatballs, and papaya salad. And with the talents of two other chefs, there were plenty of other Lao dishes to discover.

The event celebrated, “10 years of inspiring hope and saving lives in Laos through the successful effort in advancing the clearance of unexploded bombs and assistance to victims”. This organization, Legacies of War,  “elevated attention to a humanitarian problem that we can now solve”.

The evening was filled with music, Lao street food, a wine and beer bar which included the famous beer lao, and my freshly made sugar cane juice, a presentation of awards, and a silent auction.
But the festivities for me and my team aren’t over! Tonight I will be at Best of Washington hosted by the Washingtonian at the National Building Museum. See you there!
